ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - To celebrate Independence Day, New York State is putting on a show on July 4! There will be live music, great food and beverages, pony rides, and a bounce house for the kids, all at the Empire State Plaza. Alan Arkin, Oscar-winning 'Little Miss Sunshine' actor, dies at 89

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Alan Arkin, the wry character actor who demonstrated his versatility in everything from farcical comedy to chilling drama as he received four Academy Award nominations and won an Oscar in 2007 for "Little Miss Sunshine," has died. He was 89.His sons Adam, Matthew and Anthony confirmed their father's death through the actor's publicist on Friday. “Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man," they said in a statement. Kids' lemonade stand raises $7.2K to support Festus family through tragedy

FESTSUS, Mo. - What started as a summertime lemonade stand ended up growing into a large community effort to support a Festus family through hard times. Earlier this month, a group of children on Cairo Drive organized a lemonade stand. It was inspired by a close friend Welker who recently passed away. This St. Louis suburb named among Money.com’s ’50 best places’ to live The kids wanted to honor Welker's memory, and they ultimately decided to give all the money they earned to his parents, Zach and Kristen. "The amount of instant support was absolutely amazing," Amy Horrell, a mother for one of the children involved with the lemonade stand, told FOX 2. "It was such an uplifting experience to be part of. Court docs: St. Louis Co. man assaults wife after being told to turn down music

BRIDGETON, Mo. - A St. Louis County man accused of assaulting his wife over a request to turn down music recently ended up in jail.Prosecutors have charged Miguel Duenas, 38, with one count of fourth-degree domestic assault in the investigation, which dates back to June 17, 2023 at a Bridgeton home on Beaverton Drive. This St. Louis suburb named among Money.com’s ’50 best places’ to live Investigators say Duenas became angry at his wife when she told him to turn down the volume of music so she could work from home. Moments later, according to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Duenas grabbed by the back of her hair and pulled her head back aggressively. Court docs allege Duenas then told his wife he was going to disable her vehicle so she couldn't leave. He reportedly threw her keys into the backyard, then damaged several parts of the hood to make it inoperable. Investigators say he later pushed her wife down the basement. Safe-stealing serial burglar caught with unregistered gun, purloined electric skateboard, police say

A man will likely face a slew of charges after he was connected to multiple thefts and burglaries in Riverside and, while already in custody, was found to possess an unregistered handgun and a valuable stolen electric skateboard, police said.The investigation began with the burglary of a business in the 2000 block of Iowa Avenue in Riverside last month, resulting in the theft of "several thousand dollars" from an ATM and damage to the business, the Riverside Police Department said in a news release. "The break-in was captured on video and the assigned detective recognized the suspect as a local man on probation for theft-related crimes, 27-year-old Michael Aria Javdani," the release said. Detectives then began to connect Javdani to additional thefts and burglaries, police said.
