If you are, head to the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish from 2 to 6 p.m. at 250 Old Maxwell Road on Saturday, December 9, for the Christmas Polish Food Sale. The food sale offers frozen and hot food, including homemade gołąbki, bigos, borscht, kapusta, and haluski, and three types of locally made kielbasa. There will also be 17 different types of frozen pierogi available from award-winning Babcia’s Pierogi.Customers can also purchase traditional Polish desserts, including homemade chruściki, chocolate vodka Cakes, kolachki, and raspberry, apricot, walnut, or poppyseed rolls. Traditional Polish wafers, Opłatki, are also available.Patrons are also invited to donate hats, mittens, scarves, or tips to support Joseph's House in Troy. The non-profit provides emergency shelter and support services to around 2,000 individuals annually.

Albany restaurant for sale, owners focusing on Schenectady

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) --  The Cuckoo's Nest, which opened on Western Avenue in Albany in 2017, is up for sale and will close after the sale, according to owner Kaytrin Ziemann. "This is not something we decided overnight," said Ziemann. "We're in Schenectady all the time and don't give The Cuckoo's Nest our attention. It's not fair to that space."The Ziemanns also own The Nest in Schenectady and are opening Mila Restaurant & Bar in the old Bank of America building at 500 State Street. They've been working to open Mila for about two and a half years, said Ziemann. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The suspect in the Temple Israel of Albany shooting appeared in federal court Friday morning. Mufid Fawaz Alkhader, 28, of Schenectady is being held without bail. Buc-ee’s has started hiring for first Colorado location, expects store to open in March

Work is on schedule for Colorado’s first Buc-ee’s to open early next year.The Texas-based company, known for its mega convenience stores, gas stations and red-capped beaver mascot, is building a store in Johnstown. The store will be the company’s first planned outside the South and the farthest west.And at 74,000 square feet, the Johnstown store will be one of the biggest Buc-ee’s. There will be 120 gas pumps.“We’re scheduled to open the store in March.
