JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s Foreign Ministry said Sunday that it would summon the Irish ambassador over a tweet celebrating the release of a 9-year-old girl from Hamas captivity, alleging the post didn’t adequately condemn the militant group.Earlier Sunday, the Irish prime minister lauded the release of Emily Hand, an Israeli-Irish girl whose story has captivated both nations.“An innocent child who was lost has now been found and returned, and we breathe a massive sigh of relief. LONDON (AP) — Thousands of people including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson gathered in London on Sunday for a march against antisemitism, a day after large crowds turned out for a pro-Palestinian rally. Johnson was joined by the U.K.’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and other senior government officials at the march to express solidarity with the Jewish community. Organizers billed it as the largest gathering against antisemitism in London for decades. OTTAWA — The Public Health Agency of Canada says one person has died after a salmonella outbreak linked to Malichita and Rudy brand cantaloupes.An update from the agency posted on Friday offered no details on the person who died, but says there have been 63 confirmed salmonella cases linked to the outbreak and seventeen people hospitalized.The agency issued food recall warnings three times in November for Malichita cantaloupes sold between October 11 and November 14.On November 24, it updated its warning to include Rudy brand cantaloupes sold between October 10 and November 24. The cantaloupes were distributed across the country, and the agency says confirmed salmonella cases have been identified in five provinces so far: Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island. . Toronto police have made an arrest made in a sexual assault investigation, charging an 87-year-old man with sexual interference.On Nov. 5, at approximately 4:46 p.m., police responded to a call for a sexual assault in the Christie Street and Dupont Street area.It is alleged that between the years 2003 and 2016, the accused sexually assaulted three different child victims.Albert Devonish, 87, of Toronto, was arrested on Nov. 25 and charged with three counts of sexual interference.He is scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Nov. 26.Police believe there may be other victims. CHICAGO -- A police officer was shot during a struggle with an individual during an attempted carjacking incident after a vehicle was found crashed on the side of the road in Bedford Park Sunday morning, police said. Bedford Park police said that around 3:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a car crash in the 6700 block of South Avenue. Officers responded to the area and located an unoccupied car with heavy damage off the roadway.Police said the car was reported stolen in an aggravated carjacking. Video surveillance showed two individuals fleeing on foot after the crash. A short time later, two individuals were witnessed getting into a vehicle at a gas station near the 6800 block of South Archer Road.Officers attempted to conduct an investigatory stop and one of the subjects was not complying with the officer.
