HONG KONG (AP) — World shares were mixed on Monday, with European markets barely moving as investors grew cautious over the potential for recession in the region. In European trading, Germany’s DAX lost 7 points to 15,180.02 and the CAC 40 in Paris lost 0.1% to 7,041.12. Britain’s FTSE 100 edged less than 3 points lower, to 7,415.13. The futures for the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.1%. Recent surveys of factory managers showed a deterioration in business activity, reinforcing concerns over slowing growth in Germany, France and other major economies. SARASOTA, Fla. (WSVN) — An 81-year-old grandmother from Florida recently lived out a dream she had cherished for many decades. Her journey took her back to her high school alma mater, where she once again donned the colors and cheered for her beloved team.Mikie Harris revisited her high school as part of a cherished bucket list item. “I was born a cheerleader,” she proudly exclaimed. “This is on my bucket list, kid. Last year for my 80th, I flew a plane.”This year, she chose to relive her high school days by cheering for the football team, taking her back to her youthful days when she was part of the cheer squad in 1960 and 1959. “I was on the squad from the time I was a junior,” Harris recalled. “I had a boyfriend who really cared about me. I was voted friendliest.”Sophia Drews, a senior cheerleader on the squd, said that “bubbly” barely describes Mikie’s infectious energy. Who could have seen this coming?!Incumbent Vladimir Putin has decided to run for president again in the upcoming 2024 Russian elections, according to a report by Reuters. While everyone expects Putin — who has been Russia’s leader on and off (but mainly on) since 1999 — to seek reelection as president, his office has not confirmed the news yet.But according to Monday’s report, which cites six anonymous sources, the decision has been made and the Russian leader is expected to make a public announcement “soon.”Russian presidential elections are slated for March 2024. When Putin wins — a near-certainty since he allows virtually no opposition to his regime — he would remain president until at least 2030.Last month, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Putin — who has been waging all-out war on Ukraine since February 2022 — could “hardly” face any real competition if he was to run again, given that he is the “unquestionably top-ranked political figure” in the country. KYIV — Russia bombed the Odesa region on Sunday, damaging an art museum and warehouses, a day after Ukrainian forces struck a Russian missile carrier at a Kerch shipyard. A Russian Kalibr missile carrier was destroyed in the Ukrainian attack on Saturday, Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Forces, said in a statement Sunday. The ship was in the Russian Zaliv shipyard in the city of Kerch in Russian-occupied Crimea.“Well done, the attack went through like a SCALPel,” Oleshchuk said, hinting that the Ukrainian pilot used French SCALP cruise missiles for the attack.Oleshchuk did not name the vessel. But the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty claimed it was the Askold — one of the newest Russian missile carriers. Russia’s defense ministry confirmed only that the ship had been damaged. Ukrainian forces also targeted a Russian ammo depot in Sedove on the coast of the Azov Sea in the Donetsk region Sunday evening.“It will keep detonating until morning for sure...Ailing Pope Francis meets with European rabbis and condemns antisemitism, terrorism, war

It was visual proof of just how loose the Ravens felt late in the third quarter after their defense had spent the afternoon beating up another NFC heavyweight.Just as the Detroit Lions had two weeks earlier, the Seahawks traveled to Baltimore a confident team, winners of five of their past six games and first in their division. They left thoroughly beaten, testifying to the home team’s quality.“They just went to work, and we didn’t stop them,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. “...Latest news
