He was immediately congratulated by teammate Romain Grosjean and team owner Michael Andretti.Kirkwood, in his second season of IndyCar, will lead the field to green Sunday in the most prestigious street course race in the United States.“I am just ecstatic at the moment,” Kirkwood said. “I couldn’t be happier with this, the third weekend with the team.”Kirkwood was part of the Andretti development system but after winning the Lights championship in 2021 had to leave the organization because it didn’t have an IndyCar seat for him to be promoted. So he spent last year with AJ Foyt Racing until Andret...Real Madrid wins 2-0 at Cadiz before trip to Chelsea

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in northwestern New Mexico on Friday released body camera footage of police officers opening fire and killing a homeowner after they showed up at the wrong address in response to domestic violence call. The video released by the Farmington Police Department — just over a week after the April 5 nighttime shooting — showed officers arriving at the home. They walked up to the front door, passing the address that was posted on the home and illuminated by an exterior light, knocked on the door and announced themselves. While knocking twice more, the officers can be heard asking a dispatcher to confirm the address and to tell the caller to come to the door. The dispatcher states the address of a home across the street. It was soon after that the homeowner, armed with a handgun, opened the door and the officers immediately began shooting, firing multiple rounds as they backed away. The man can be seen dropping to the ground.About a minute afterwards, a wom...Sources: Top Trump attorney recused himself from handling Mar-a-Lago case

(CNN) — Attorney Evan Corcoran recused himself from representing former President Donald Trump in the special counsel investigation related to the Mar-a-Lago documents given that he testified for investigators, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN.Corcoran’s exit, which was first reported by The Washington Post, was an expected development after special counsel Jack Smith’s office forced him to testify without the shield of attorney-client privilege in front of the grand jury and prosecutors accused Trump of using his attorney to advance a crime.Despite recusing himself from the Mar-a-Lago probe weeks ago, Corcoran continues to represent Trump on other matters, including the January 6, 2021, investigation. He appeared in court on behalf of the former president for sealed proceedings related to that part of Smith’s probe just days after his testimony in the Mar-a-Lago documents case.Corcoran could still resume representing Trump in the documents ...Hundreds gather for remembrance ceremony as Boston marks 10 years since marathon bombings

The Orioles took four leads Saturday but couldn’t hold any of them. After taking a one-run lead in the 10th, the Orioles surrendered two runs in the bottom half of the inning in a 7-6 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Rookie Oscar Colás’ single to right field gave the White Sox the walk-off win.The Orioles (8-7) scored in the top of the 10th thanks to the automatic runner placed at second base at the start of the inning. Jorge Mateo laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Gunnar Henderson to third, and after Cedric Mullins drew a walk, Adley Rutschman beat out a potential double play on a ground ball to short, allowing Henderson to score the go-ahead run.But in the bottom half of the inning, reliever Logan Gillaspie allowed an RBI double to White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal to tie the game. Jake Burger then singled to send pinch-runner Seby Zavala to third before Colás’ walk-off hit over the head of Anthony Santander in right field. A rebuild is not in sight for the Chicago Bulls.Well before their losing season came to a dismal close Friday with a play-in loss to the Miami Heat, Bulls fans had formed a chorus of demands for the team to shake up the core of the roster for the 2023-24 season. But executive vice president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas made it clear that any fans hoping for a roster overhaul would be disappointed at the end of the offseason.“That’s been thrown around all this season — ‘Blow up, rebuild’ — but it’s not on our minds,” Karnišovas said Saturday at the Advocate Center. “I think the moment we changed our minds in 2021 to focus on winning and trying to build a sustainable program here. That’s what we’re focused right now on.”The 2021 vision that Karnišovas cited was clear-cut at the time — build a core with DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević and surround them...Celtics open with strong first punch, hold on for Game 1 victory over Hawks

With 6:27 remaining in just the second quarter of Game 1 of the playoffs, Al Horford couldn’t hide his emotions. The Celtics were up 22, and the Hawks earned second and chance opportunities. But Horford wouldn’t allow there to be a fourth. The big man corralled a rebound over Atlanta’s Onyeka Okongwu, drew a foul and then continued dribbling down the court. He took two dribbles before taking a few skips, clenching his right fist and letting out a few screams before slapping the ball.It was a rare display of emotion for Horford, the 36-year-old steady, mild-mannered veteran who picks his spots to do so. Even though it was only Game 1 of the first round, it was the strong opening statement he and the Celtics were looking for as they restart their pursuit of a championship that they came so close to claiming a year ago.Horford’s expressions fired up the TD Garden crowd, Jayson Tatum raised his arms to get them louder and the Celtics were on their way to delivering a convincing first pun...‘Boston Strong, forever’: Thousands gather in resilience, memory of 2013 bombings
