UPS set to hire more than 3K seasonal workers for holiday season

CHICAGO — UPS is looking to hire 3,500 seasonal employees across the Chicago area for the upcoming holiday season.Full and part-time seasonal positions include delivery drivers, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) drivers and package handlers. Seasonal hourly pay rates for package handlers and driver helpers begin at $21 per hour. Driving jobs start at $23 per hour.Permanent positions are also available. UPS revealed that nearly 50,000 seasonal employees have earned enduring jobs over the past two years. Search for jobs on our job board Nationally, UPS expects to hire more than 100,000 seasonal employees. The Austin Police Department said on social media it is investigating a homicide in the 2300 block of Greenfield Parkway. That area is just east of I-35 off of East Oltorf Street. Austin Travis County EMS said medics were called to the scene at 10:59 a.m. and obtained a deceased on scene pronouncement for an adult. No one else was treated at the scene. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Today's normal high temperatures are in the upper 80s. But today through Monday will find our daytime maximums peaking in mostly the middle 90s. Afternoon forecasts today and Wednesday will include only a 10% chance of a few spot showers with just a few hundredths of an inch measured. ST. LOUIS -- A man was found beaten on the sidewalk in the 3400 block of Montana in south St. Louis in June. Now, Robert Bunger, 43, faces second-degree murder charges in the death of Jordan Harris. Bunger is in jail, with no bond allowed in this case. Cloned voice, fake bondsman target St. Louis woman Police were called to the 3400 block of Montana on June 28 for a report of an assault in progress. They found Harris unresponsive on the sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital and declared deceased the next day.During the investigation, the Medical Examiner’s Office contacted the Homicide Division.
