Arvada Police searching for suspect in deadly shooting

DENVER (KDVR) -- The Arvada Police Department asked people in the area of 63rd Avenue and Estes Street to stay indoors due to a large police presence and suspect search on Sunday afternoon.Arvada Police were working with the Westminster Police Department to find a suspect in a shooting that happened Sunday around 9:50 a.m. in the 9800 block of Westcliff Parkway, according to WPD. The man who was shot was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.The suspect fled in a vehicle, which was found near 64th Avenue and Estes Street in Arvada.Arvada Police provided an update just after 1 p.m. and said the suspect may be in an apartment on 62nd Avenue between Estes and Dover Streets.As of 7 p.m., police were still advising nearby residents to stay indoors and shelter in place. DENVER (KDVR) — The end of October and the start of November brought several extremes to the weather in the Denver area, including snow, the coldest temperatures of the season and record heat. Overall, October was on the warm side with 18 days of above-normal high temperatures, 10 days below normal and 3 days of average high temperatures from October 3-5. Record high temperature broken in Denver Sunday Record warmth was recorded on Oct. 20 when Denver set a new daily record high of 86 degrees. Denver also started the month of October with a low of 58 degrees. This set a new record for the warmest low temperature recorded on October 1.The end of October brought the first measurable snowfall of the season for Denver. A chaotic crash left multiple people injured in Hollywood.Hollywood Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the wreck at North 69th Avenue and Sheridan Street, Sunday afternoon.According to investigators, three vehicles were involved in the crash. Officers from Peel police’s Specialized Enforcement Bureau STEP Team have arrested and charged five Brampton men with firearm-related and drug offences in addition to breach of conditions.On Friday at approximately 12:00 p.m., SEB officers along with the Peel police’s Tactical Unit located three men in the area of Highway 50 and Rutherford Road in Vaughan. As a result of an ongoing investigation by SEB, three men were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.Police searched the men and discovered they were were in possession of a FN 509 9mm pistol that contained a 24-round extended magazine loaded with 20 rounds. The men were informed of the additional charges. The same day at approximately 3:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mountainash Road and Bovaird Drive in Brampton.
