With just more than a week remaining in the regular season, it may be too late for the Celtics to catch the Bucks in the race for the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed, especially after Tuesday’s horrendous loss to the Wizards. But that didn’t stop them from making a statement in Milwaukee on Thursday night. The Celtics were due for a strong response – given that loss and the opponent – but probably not this strong. Led by their two best players, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the Celtics went into Fiserv Forum and handed the best team in the NBA its worst loss of the season, a 140-99 bludgeoning that was over by halftime. The Bucks were playing the second night of a back-to-back – and looked like it with their woeful performance on both ends – but this dismantling could have some ripple effects if the two teams end up meeting in the Eastern Conference Finals in a couple of months. The Celtics are now two games back of the Bucks with five games left and own the tiebreaker after winning th...Decision expected Friday in $26B Rogers-Shaw merger

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican government experts said Thursday they are concerned that a traveling display of mummies from the 1800s may pose a health risk to the public. The preserved corpses were unintentionally mummified when they were buried in crypts in dry, mineral-rich soil in the state of Guanajuato. Some still have hair, leathery skin and their original clothing. But the National Institute of Anthropology and History said in a statement that one of the mummies also appears to have fungal growths. The federal institute distanced itself from a state government decision to display a half dozen of the mummies in glass cases at a tourism fair in Mexico City. It was unclear whether the cases were air-tight, and the institute said it had not been consulted about the display.“It is even more worrisome that they are still being exhibited without the safeguards for the public against biohazards,” said the institute. “From some of the published photos, at least one of the corpses on disp...Bernie Sanders stops in Chicago to rally for Brandon Johnson

As WGN TV celebrates 75 years, we’re looking back with a series of stories on the history and the memories.CHICAGO — If there were a Mount Rushmore-style monument of WGN television personalities, Harry Caray’s face – with his signature oversized glasses – would be etched in stone along with the other greats. But a statue outside of the Wrigley Field bleachers will have to do. It shows Caray pointing the WGN Sports microphone back at the fans he loved. “He is the most popular figure in Cubs history,” Jimmy Greenfield, author of 100 Things Cubs Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die, said. “He was a legend loved by legends.” The boisterous baseball broadcaster’s name is synonymous with the Chicago Cubs on Channel 9 – and with fun itself. “I think the gift of Harry is, here’s a guy who was the longtime announcer for the Cubs’ most hated rival, the Cardinals, right?,” said Bob Vorwald, the longtime WGN director of production who oversaw Cubs telecasts on W...Latest news
