Disney is continuing to dip its toe into the real estate development game, announcing on Wednesday it's planning a new residential community in North Carolina."Asteria" is a planned community located near Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, and is part of the company's ongoing Storyliving by Disney venture.The Asteria community is in its early planning stages, but Disney says it's being designed to "encourage exploration of the region's natural beauty and spark life-long learning."The community will be located within a 1,500-acre parcel located in Chatham County. Disney officials say it will be close to nearby cities, giving residents metropolitan amenities while maintaining its small-town charm. Disneyland will be hosting after dark events themed to Disney Channel shows throughout the decades and will also bring back three returning after-dark themes that quickly became fan favorites. A suspect was arrested in Santa Monica after police found him allegedly strangling another man on Friday.The suspect was identified as Tamarquis Isiah Burke, 31, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. Burke is believed to be a transient.On Dec. 1, officers responded to reports of an assault on the 200 block of Palisades Park around 8:55 a.m.Arriving officers found Burke “actively strangling” another man at the scene. The victim, who is also a homeless person, was heard pleading for help as police ran towards him.Burke eventually released the victim and was taken into custody. Witnesses told police the violent attack appeared to be unprovoked.The suspect was arrested on charges of attempted homicide. He is being held on $2.25 million bail.The case remains under investigation. A juvenile who was fatally shot in South Gate on Thursday was killed by another minor, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.The victim, who was not identified due to their age, was shot in the 3100 block of Wisconsin Avenue a few minutes before 9:15 p.m., the LASD said in a news release. That minor, who had been shot in the torso, was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. (KRON) -- A juvenile suspect was arrested on Tuesday after he led Sonoma County deputies on a chase through the Russian River, the county sheriff's office said. The suspect is accused of breaking into multiple vacation homes in the county. On Tuesday, deputies began to investigate the break-ins of three vacation homes on Freezout Road in the Duncan Mills neighborhood. The suspect allegedly caused damage to all three homes. 2 robbed at gunpoint in Walnut Creek An investigation identified the suspect as a minor and revealed that he had been staying in the houses.
